Some centres offer same-day processing for straightforward orders received early in the day.
Factors That Affect Speed
Several factors influence turnaround time: the complexity of prep required (poly bagging every unit takes longer than just labelling), the volume in your order (a thousand units takes longer than fifty), current capacity at the prep centre (busier periods mean longer queues), and whether your order requires any non-standard processing (custom packaging, bundling, or kitting).
Setting Realistic Expectations
When comparing prep centres, be cautious of promises that seem too good to be true. A centre promising same-day processing on all orders regardless of volume or complexity may be cutting corners on quality to maintain speed. Consistent two to three day turnaround with high accuracy is better than rushed same-day processing with higher error rates.
Rush and Priority Options
Many prep centres offer priority or rush processing for an additional fee. If you have time-sensitive stock (seasonal products, trending items, or replenishment of fast-selling products), priority processing can be worth the premium. Establish what rush options are available and their cost before you need them — asking for priority during the busiest period is harder than setting it up in advance.
