Whatever the reason, managing the transition smoothly is important to avoid disruption.
Planning the Transition
Do not switch abruptly unless there is a critical issue. Plan the transition over two to four weeks. Start by sending new stock to the new prep centre while your current centre processes remaining orders. This overlap period lets you test the new centre's performance before fully committing and ensures continuous processing throughout the transition.
Handling Existing Stock
You may have stock stored at your current prep centre that has not yet been prepped or shipped. Arrange to have this either processed and sent to Amazon before you leave, shipped directly to your new prep centre, or returned to you. Check your current centre's terms regarding stock removal — some charge fees for returning stored inventory.
Updating Your Suppliers
If suppliers ship directly to your prep centre, update delivery addresses promptly. Send the new address to all suppliers and confirm they have updated their records. A delivery going to your old prep centre after you have left creates complications — ensure all inbound shipments are redirected before your relationship with the old centre ends.

Take the transition as an opportunity to set clear expectations from the start with your new prep centre. Communicate your standards, preferred processes, and any lessons learned from your previous experience.
